Rushnara Ali wants a favorable environment at the airport

Rushnara Ali, the British Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for Bangladesh, has sought a conducive environment for the movement of foreign investors at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The member of the British Parliament also called for reducing harassment in the process of import and export of goods through airports.

This was stated by the British Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for Bangladesh Rushnara Ali during a meeting with PM’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman at Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) building in Agargaon on Monday. British High Commissioner to Dhaka Robert Chatterton Dixon was present at the meeting. This was stated in a press release issued by the Office of the Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser.

Rushnara Ali said there are many British companies in Bangladesh. Many more British companies are showing interest in conducting their business in Bangladesh. He said Bangladesh, like the United Kingdom, has suffered in many cases due to the Corona epidemic. However, Bangladesh’s economy is quickly returning to normal. The overall situation is slowly improving.

After the meeting, Salman F. Rahman told reporters, “Rushnara Ali Shahjalal Airport speaks of a favorable environment for foreign investors. I informed him that we are constructing a third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal Airport to ensure international standard airport services. Its construction will be completed by next year. The opening of the third terminal will reduce the harassment and suffering of traders.

Salman F Rahman further said, ‘Bangladesh government is working to ensure a conducive business environment for investors. We have already launched one-stop service through Bangladesh Investment Development Authority. We also provide digital online services. The investment climate is slowly improving.
