Jahangirnagar University admission test will continue for 4 more days
Jahangirnagar University Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Bangabandhu Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture C Unit admission test has started. The examination for the selection of students for the first year of graduation for the academic year 2021-22 has started today at nine in the morning on Sunday. The examination is conducted in five rounds (phases) till 4:30 pm.
According to the Central Admission Management Committee of the University, 53 thousand 430 students are expected to participate in today’s admission test against 466 seats in C Unit. As such, 115 candidates have appeared for each seat in this unit.
Vice-Chancellor Nurul Alam visited the admission examination room in the new art building of the university around 10:30 am. At this time, the Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Sheikh Md. Manjurul Haque, Treasurer Rasheda Akhtar, Registrar (Contractual) Rahima Kaniz and others were present.
After visiting the center, Vice-Chancellor Nurul Alam said, thinking about the suffering of the students, the number of units has been reduced, later the authorities will take appropriate measures regarding the rotation system.
According to the admission test notification, tomorrow Monday (August 1) will be the examination of Faculty of Sociology and Faculty of Law under B Unit. The admission test of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and Institute of Information Technology under this unit will be held on Tuesday. The next day on Wednesday, the rest of the students of the A unit in the first semester and the aspirants of the Faculty of Biology under the D unit in the other five semesters will take the exam. The last exam will be on Thursday. On that day, the remaining admission-seekers of the D unit in the first, second and third phases and the last two phases under the E unit will complete the examination of the Faculty of Business Studies and the Institute of Business Administration.
In the fourth round admission examination, the examination started 10 minutes after the scheduled time in two rooms of Zaheer Raihan Auditorium of the University. The exam was supposed to start at 1:50 PM but it started at 2:00 PM.
Mozammel Haque, dean of the faculty of arts and humanities, told reporters that every year they send question papers to the adjacent chemistry department for the center of the auditorium. The teachers collect the questions from there and then take the exam. However, this year it was decided to send the question paper to the Faculty of Sociology. But Auditorium Coordinator Tapas Kumar Das refused to bring question papers from the Faculty of Sociology after the third shift citing ‘security’. Due to this the fourth round exam started late.
