Inauguration of painting exhibition with paintings by 32 artists of Narsingdi
The 7-day long picture exhibition has started with 47 pictures painted by 32 artists of Narsingdi. This picture exhibition was inaugurated in Narsingdi Municipal Auditorium on Saturday evening. The exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest of the program, Professor Rokeya Sultana, Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University. Former principal of Narsingdi Government College Golam Mostafa Mia, painter Pradyot Das and president of Narsingdi Press Club Habibur Rahman were special guests at this time.
The artists participating in the exhibition are Pradyot Das, Shafiqul Kabir, Surbhi Sobhana, Ashraful Kabir, Mehdi Hasan, Sigma Haque, Fani Das, Sadek Mukul, Arun Chandra Burman, Zahirul Islam Bhuiyan, Sharif Bachchu, Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan, Syeda Humaira Rashid, Naeem Mridha, Alam , Mohsin Kabir, Morsheda Haque, Roksana Akhtar, Helena Nazneen, Mir Bashirun Necha, Sushant Kumar Saha, Shamim Akhtar, Prantosh Dutta, Ali Mahmud, Arif Bachchu, Mohammad Rabin, Arjina Ahsan, Jayant Debnath, Shaswati Dev, Abu Al Naeem, Humaira Rashid and Asif Khan.
Saima Bithi, a student of Narsingdi Government College, came to enjoy the exhibition. He said, “This kind of arrangement does not happen much in Narsingdi. I enjoyed looking at these pictures painted by talented artists. I didn’t understand some pictures, I understood some. All in all, I liked the exhibition.
Professor Rokeya Sultana said in his speech, “The sense of values and patriotism is awakened in us through the exhibition of paintings.” So I consider such an arrangement very important. The gathering of 32 painters of Narsingdi through this arrangement is also a great achievement.
In the speech of the special guest, Golam Mustafa Mia said that the artists participating in the exhibition are all children of Narsingdi. Organizing such exhibitions is very necessary. Through this, the expression and development of socio-cultural practices will be possible.
According to the Narsingdi Arts Council, this painting exhibition will be open for visitors from 11 am to 8 pm every day at the Narsingdi Municipal Auditorium until August 12.
