Exhibition with 422 works of art by emerging artists
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s ’23rd Young Artists Fine Art Exhibition 2022′ is starting. Planning Minister MA Mannan will inaugurate the exhibition at Chitrasala Auditorium at 7 pm on Wednesday. This year’s awards will be given to the artists at this time.
This year’s exhibition featured 422 works of art by 356 artists aged between 21 and 35 years. The exhibition will continue till August 25 in some galleries and sculpture galleries of National Art Gallery.
Paintings in various mediums, sculptures, crafts, pottery, graphic art, photography, installation art, performance art, new media art, and almost all art forms of fine arts will be seen in this exhibition. The artworks were selected by Professor Pranab Mitra Chowdhury, Nihar Ranjan Singh, artist Kamal Pasha Chowdhury, Shayla Sharmin, photographer Ashfaq Ahmed and artist Jihan Karim. The judges for the award nominations were artists Syed Abul Bark Alvi, Farida Zaman, Siddharth Talukder, Lalarukh Salim, Nasir Ali Mamun and art critic Ziaul Karim.
This year the best award in all mediums is ’23rd Navin Shilpi Charukala Award 2022′ and one best award will be given in each category of Fine Arts including Photography, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Oriental Art, Crafts, Pottery, Graphic Design, Photography, Installation Art, Performance Art and New Media Art. . 1 lakh, 1 medal, 1 memento, certificate and catalog will be given to the best prize winner in all categories. 50 thousand taka, 1 memento, certificate and catalog will be given to the best award winning artists in each medium. Apart from this, each selected artist will be given a certificate.
Liaquat Ali, director general of the academy, presented the details of the exhibition in a press conference at the seminar room of National Art Gallery of Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday afternoon. The secretary of the academy was present at this time. Asaduzzaman, Fine Arts Department Director Syeda Mahbooba Karim, Deputy Director AM Mostak Ahmed and others.
Dhaka University, Chittagong University, Rajshahi University, Jahangirnagar University, Khulna University, Jagannath University, Narayanganj Fine Arts Institute, University of Development Alternative, Shanta Mariam University of Creative Technology, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University and a total of 10 universities and fine arts institutes participated in the exhibition. Gallery No. 3 of Chitrashala organizes thematic specially curated exhibitions.
