In Raiganj of Sirajganj, upazila Awami League and BNP called political programs at the same place and at the same time. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Tripti Kona Mandal issued this order on Wednesday night.

According to party sources, a protest rally of upazila BNP was scheduled to be held at Dhangara area of ​​Raiganj municipality around 3 o’clock today. However, in the meantime, the Upazila Awami League announced to hold a Kangali feast and a mourning meeting in Dhangara area from morning to afternoon. In such a situation Raiganj upazila administration issued section 144.

Micking has been seen in this matter since Thursday morning. It is being said by miking that section 144 has been issued in the entire thana area including Raiganj Municipality, Chandaikona, Pangasi Union of the upazila. Therefore, all kinds of public gatherings, rallies, demonstrations and processions have been banned in these areas until further orders.

UNO Tripti Kona Mandal told Prothom Alo around 10 am today that at the same time the Upazila Awami League and BNP called for a protest rally and political program. Later yesterday, in view of the report of the officer-in-charge of Raiganj police station, an order has been issued in accordance with section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 in the entire police station area.

Sirajganj District Joint General Secretary of BNP Harun Or Rashid Khan said that since August 22, BNP has been holding protest rally program to protest against load shedding of electricity and price increase of daily necessities. There was a pre-scheduled program in Raiganj around 3 pm today. Section 144 has been issued to thwart the program of BNP.

Meanwhile, Abul Kalam Azad, general secretary of Upazila Awami League, said, ‘Kangali feasts and funerals are being organized in our different areas on the occasion of National Mourning Day. As a continuation of this, many programs have been taken under the initiative of Ward No. 1 and 2 of Municipal Awami League. However, announcing the program of BNP on the same day means trying to thwart the program of mourning day.
